If everyone is suggesting you to always write an article for your readers not for search engines then what is the need of SEO friendly blog posts?
Is it sounds wondrous?
Just think about the relation amongst search engines, readers, and your articles. Yes, here you’ll get your answer in a discreet way. Actually, search engines play as the medium to interact readers with your posts. If search engines are not able to understand about your topic clearly then how it interact with true readers for your blog post. So I am also suggesting you always to write for readers but give some space for search engine robots to get you more and more organic traffic. Because whoever belongs to this profession know the power of organic traffic.
SEO has a very broad field actually, but if you work with right tactics then you will get success for sure, but not quickly. It may take some time, but definitely, you will get the success. Always remember two lines first one is, there is no short cut to success and another is, Patience always pays.
Coming to the point, What are the right tactics? Which I am suggesting you to follow, you should know.
Essentially SEO is categorised into two parts
1. On Page SEO
2. Off Page SEO
But in upcoming days, the times of on-page and off-page SEO will be over. SEO will all about seamless user experience, content and easy discover-ability for search engine spiders.
In today’s article, I’ll talk about on page SEO in the proper direction. There might be some techniques you already know, but you might be following those in the wrong way. I can assure you that after reading this post, you will know the real facts to write SEO friendly blog posts.
How to Optimise your blog Post
First of all, keep in mind that content is the king. So your primary focus should be on your content. If your content is worthless, then it is very hard to rank your article, while you might be applied decent tactics. So this is the main reason why everyone is suggesting you to write decent content for users, then other strategies will work.
1. Keyword Placement
Keyword placement is the prominent part of your article. Right placement of your keyword can rank you easily. But you should take care of avoiding keyword stuffing. Your article should be reader friendly first and later include your keywords to make it SEO friendly.
Top Places to use Keywords
1– In your title, prefer at beginning of the title. And complete your title within 70 characters.
2– In your article, that should not be more than 3% of whole content. Try to place your main keywords at first 100 words and do the same at last. Do not use same keyword over and over try other LSI keywords.
3– In your meta description. Do not exceed more than 170 characters.
4– In your permalink. Don’t use stop words, just focus on primary keywords.
5– In image optimization as alt tag.
6– Use your secondary keywords as subheading using h2,h3,h4 tags.
2. Longer the post, the better chance to rank in search engines
And another important thing about content is, always try to write more than 1000 words, that may be 1250, 1500, 2000 or more than that. What is the logic behind this? Why you should write longer article?
Remeber: Give some useful value in your article, otherwise it’s useless to write long posts.
Logic is very simple, suppose you are a visitor and looking for some solutions on the internet. You got some decent articles about your query, but those articles are short in length. No matter! you got the solution, that’s enough! What will happen now, when you will start to implement those solutions practically, you may face some new enigma related to your first query. Then you’ll again start to search next related query.
Now you know the disadvantage of short articles. While in the case of long articles, they cover all of your related queries in a single article. Search engine spiders are designed user point of view. So they give more privilege to long articles(more than 2000 words).
Such type of contents will automatically be qualitative. While in the case of short length articles they may rank, but not consistent.
3. Use LSI Keywords
What are LSI keywords? In the case of SEO terms, LSI is known as Latent Semantic Indexing keywords, an algorithm used by search engines to find words and terms that are synonyms or related words. It provides keywords diversity means whenever you write an article, there are chances of keyword stuffing by using same keywords again and again. LSI keywords show relevancy to search engines. So keywords should be diversified, not be stuffed.
By this way, your post will rank for different keywords, not for a single main keyword.
Best LSI keywords Tools:
1. Google Search: It’s the best one and my favourite free tool. For this tool, you don’t need to go for any third party tool.
Simply type your keyword in the search box, it’ll show you all related keywords at the bottom of the page. I simply searched for “on page seo” and see the image what I got.
2. Ubersuggest: By using this tool, you can easily get no of keywords free. Now it’s more valuable.
3. Keywordtool.io : This is another good tool for LSI keywords. This tool grants you LSI for other sources like youtube, play store, and bing.
4. Use Proper Heading Tag
The breaking of your articles is very necessary to get attention from your users. For doing so, you should use proper title tags in your article.
You can use
Heading 1 <h1> … </h1>
Heading 2 <h2> … </h2>
Heading 3 <h3> … </h3>
Similarly up to Heading 6.
But do remember, try to put your main keyword in h1 and secondary keywords h2 and h3. After that no value for keywords.
By default, h1 is used in your title, so there is no need to use h1 tag just use other tags in descending order. You can use it like below image.
If any other heading comes under h3 tag, then use h4 tag under h3, and so on, that’s it.
5. Meta Description
Meta description has no SEO value, but it plays an important role to attract visitors on your blog. It is 160-170 long characters which show a short and eye-catching description for your post. You must add your LSI keyword in the meta description.
Check this one:
It’s very important for user point of view it attracts users to decide to go through your link or not within seconds. So create it unique, it’ll take only 2-3 minutes to write an eye catching meta tags.
6. Images Optimization
Google robots can’t see images so it is very necessary to use alt tags for your images. Try to use LSI keywords with less nos of search. Then that image will easily rank on google images. Most of the people, take it lightly. but truth is that it can increase your SERP.
7. URL Structure(Permalink)
Permalink of your post should be short and main keyword included. Try to use 3-4 words only, but if needed you can increase. Another important thing about permalink is that avoid stop words like in,on,with,of etc.
In the case of permalinks, there is mix response of different experts. If you talk about neil patel’s blog quick sprout, he likes to use
http://www.quicksprout.com/2011/11/17/how-to-write-seo-friendly-blog-posts-with-these-13-questions/
while on another hand in case of Brain Dean’s blog backlinko, he likes to use short permalink.

Similarly, you can see it in Kulwant Nagi’s Blog Bloggingcage; he also uses only 2-3 words in permalinks.

So it’s upon you which one you prefer, but my suggestion is to use 2-3 words with the main keyword in your permalink.
8. Proper Internal Links
Its has many benefits, if you do proper internal link building then it will increase your ranking, decrease your bounce rate. But don’t do it unnecessary, if needed then use internal links at right place otherwise, you’ll get some loss. If you do it in the proper way, then you will boost your ranking.
Internal links are crucial, to help Google and other search engine crawlers to dig more contents from a single site. Try to maintain the ratio of 1:2 between outbound and internal links. For a single outbound link, make the double inbound link. After some time you will get the positive result.
9. Proper Outbound Links
Outgoing links are also very essential part of your on page SEO. Most of the newbies think, it’s not good for their blog because the user will leave their page and stick with other’s blog post. That’s completely wrong opinion.
Then what is truth?
Actually, it is not possible to be the master in all fields. You can’t cover each thing in a single blog. You can provide related stuff through internal links if you have written that topic earlier. There are many experts, so always try to give relevant outgoing links to your users. Outgoing links show the trust of your blog to your readers. Means your user will get all best possible related contents on a single platform. That sounds cool.
And another myth is to always provide no follow to outgoing links. It’s quietly wrong, If you are giving links to authority sites then you must give do follow links.

Really awesome tricks for blog promotion, I must say. Although most of them are already known, the point where you suggested to write lengthy posts stands out. Most of the bloggers limit their posts between 500-700 words and hope to build good rankings.
I don’t actually believe in any particular numbers when it comes to post length but I would say that Google does offer leverage to those posts that are informative with proper formatting within the post. It emphasizes on those posts and rank them higher which seems to be a better guide for the user. And I also believe that this is the best way to compete with the high authority domains in the niche.
Thanks for sharing these cool tricks…

Thanks Rajeesh Nair for adding such a nice suggestion.
It’s really appreciated.
Actually I am totally agree with you, I always prefer quality and uniqueness of the articles. The reason behind the suggesting lengthy posts is that if someone tries to write more than 1000 words, he/she will definitely cover all possibilities of that topic. And that will come out automatically better guide for a user point of view.
